Affiliates to Routes of the Coffee Cultural Landscape
The Coffee Cultural Landscape gathers in its main zone specific areas of 47 municipalities and 411 villages of the departments of Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda and Valle del Cauca, located in the central and western ramifications of the Andes mountain range. On these mountainous systems, representative coffee production zones have been developed that constitute a group recognized for its attributes, the relationships between its inhabitants and its cultural heritage.
Due to its conditions of "location, relief, climate and soils, this region presents a high number of habitats of strategic interest for the conservation of biological diversity", it has a large presence of native forests and biological corridors considered strategic for the conservation of global biodiversity.
